The US's battle with "unidentified objects" over Alaska and Canada has ramifications that could pose a threat to the US's allies in the Middle East and Asia. So far this month, four objects have been shot down over North America.

According to reports, the mysterious objects are around the size of a vehicle and have a "cylindrical" shape. Investigations are underway. 

However, the US being compelled to deal with such enigmatic dangers seems to have suddenly become the new normal.

In a piece for the War Zone two years ago, Tyler Rogoway reported that drones were being regarded as unidentified objects 

despite the fact that enemies were presumably deploying them to spy on the US

Many US analysts believe the hypothesis that many events involving purported UFOs, or unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), as they are now commonly known, over the last decade are actually the manifestation of foreign adversaries harnessing advances in lower-end unmanned aerial vehicle technology and even simpler platforms, to gather intelligence of extreme fidelity on some of 

America's important national security issues.

The US now appears to be seeking for and interacting with these kinds of UFOs or UAPs, suggests that something may have changed in the way the US searches for and monitors these "objects."

 It can also indicate that the rivals are trying harder or more often to put the US and Canada to the test. 

Authorities believe that there are significant repercussions if it turns out that drones or other flying objects entered US airspace over the previous year without being noticed, especially if they were spying on Western militaries and capabilities. 

When asked if there is a possibility of a visitor from outer space, the North American Aerospace Defense Command commander, Glen VanHerck, stated, "I'll let the intelligence community and the counterintelligence community find things out. I haven't ruled anything out."

Why are there currently so many items appearing?

It probably looks like there are a lot of flying things right now over the continent. But in part, that's also because the US military improved the settings on its radar to better detect small, sluggish objects.

. According to the BBC, there is still little information regarding the incidents. Additionally, there is still considerable secrecy surrounding efforts to extricate the Chinese surveillance balloon from the ocean. 

Reporting is complicated as a result. But it's evident that over the past week, a distinctive pattern appeared. This is unprecedented, and there will be a lot more requests for information regarding these instances.

Will Western militaries now have to regularly contend with these kinds of "unidentified" objects, or UFOs?

, such as the Middle East or adjacent to US allies in Asia, will be a major concern for nations that rely on Western technology. 

Western defence technology, in general, is relied upon by allies of the US and US defence technology to outperform that of the enemy. This basically suggests that we are stronger than threats from China and Russia. 

Unidentified flying objects signify that the West hasn't done enough to confront and identify these systems.

How seriously the US is taking this threat is evidenced by the fact that the sophisticated F-22 was sent up to shoot these things down.

In an ongoing dispute between the two nations over the first object - a 

Chinese airship/balloon that the American military detected and shot down

, China's Foreign Ministry claimed that the United States has flown at least 10 illegal balloons into Chinese airspace since last year. The claim was refuted by the United States.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin responded to claims that Beijing had been using the balloon, which had been seen floating over western America, for spying, by claiming that it was 

"normal" for American high-altitude balloons to enter other nations' airspace

...It seems like Globally, militaries are putting more money into high-altitude monitoring equipment like balloons. Knowing when to avoid expensive espionage satellites on the ground is possible, 

but much less expensive balloons can sneak into foreign airspace undetected and stay over targets for days to take pictures and listen in on mobile conversations.
