At present, humans have Two sexes and few sex chromosomal abnormalities. 

But according to the new researches 'Y' chromosome is dying rapidly, this chromosome is responsible for the Male Sex traits.

It is only present in Males. It determines the masculinity and it also determines whether the embryo will become boy or girl. It only passes from father to son.

At the same rate at which the Y chromosome is degenerating, 

 It may sound a very long time, but in reality it's not 'cause life has been existing on earth for about 3.5 billion years.

Y chromosome hasn't always been like this. If we rewind the clock back to the 166 million years ago, to the very first mammals, the story was completely different. 

The early Y chromosome also called "pro Y chromosome" was originally the same  size as the X chromosome and contained all the same genes. 

The basic flaw with it is that, Unlike all other chromosomes, which we have two copies of each undergoes the genetic recombination, the shuffling of the genes that occurs in every generation which helps to eliminate any damaging gene mutation. 

So, in this case Y chromosome, is unable to protect itself from Mutations which is leading to it's elimination.
