The much awaited SCO summit 2023, hosted by India, came to a close. The virtual Summit was attended by the Chinese President Xi Jinping, Pakistan PM Shebaz Sharif, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and leaders from other member states - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan with Turkmenistan as the special guest invited by the Chair, India. Other than the member states, Iran, Belarus and Mongolia joined as observer states.

The theme of the virtual summit was ‘SECURE’, the acronym coined by Prime Minister Modi, which stands for 

R- Respect for Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity
