Tesla's stock price has dropped even further after the company failed to meet its 2022 targets. On Tuesday, the first trading day of the year, the price fell by nearly 15%, settling at just over $105. This marks a significant decline from its September high of $309 per share and a loss of almost 75% of its value since the beginning of last year. This decline in share price is an additional issue for CEO Elon Musk, who also manages Twitter in addition to his electric car company. It also means that Musk's personal net worth has decreased even further, as he has invested a significant portion of his wealth in Tesla.

Despite reaching record numbers for production at over 439,000 vehicles, and delivering 405,278 cars to customers, an increase of 40% compared to the previous year, it was lower than what the company had projected to investors and prompted a rapid selloff in the markets.
