Kherson residents are being urged to flee the captured city, according to Ukraine, as locals complain of shelling and suffering.

Russian soldiers are preparing for the "heaviest of battles" in Kherson

, a strategically important region in southern Ukraine, as they get ready to defend the Kremlin's largest controlled city.

Russian soldiers in the area have recently been pushed back and now face being stranded on the west side of the Dnipro River, where Russian forces had held the provincial capital of Kherson since the early stages of their invasion of Ukraine eight months ago.

Residents have been encouraged to move to the east bank by the Russian-installed authorities, but Oleksiy Arestovych, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, claimed there was no indication that Russian soldiers themselves were getting ready to leave the city.

"With Kherson everything is clear. The Russians are replenishing, strengthening their grouping there," Late on Tuesday, Arestovych remarked in a video posted online.

"It means that nobody is preparing to withdraw. On the contrary, the heaviest of battles is going to take place for Kherson."

Kherson is likely the most crucial of the four regions that Putin annexed in September. Both the mouth of the massive river that divides Ukraine, the Dnipro, and the single land access point to the Crimean peninsula that Russia annexed in 2014 are under its authority. 

A former pro-Ukrainian Kherson regional council member, Yuri Sobolevsky, claimed that the authorities established by Russia were placing more and more pressure on Kherson inhabitants to leave the city and move to Russia.

In reference to the questioning and imprisonment of civilians by Russian soldiers, he wrote on the Telegram messaging service, "Search and filtration procedures are intensifying as are searches of cars and homes".

People are being evacuated, according to Russia, for their own protection.

On Tuesday, a Reuters reporter in a rural hamlet close to the frontline in Kherson reported hearing no gunfire or artillery fire. Residents expressed their hope that Russian military would leave Kherson quickly.

Mikola Nizinets, 39, spoke to Russian shelling by saying, "You fall asleep at night and you don't know if you will wake up."

Many locals have fled, leaving livestock to graze among in an area with abandoned weapons and without power, gas, food or drinkable water.

 on Tuesday before the U.N. Security Council that Ukraine was getting ready to use a "dirty bomb," a claim that was rejected by Western and Ukrainian authorities as a fabrication intended to justify escalating the conflict.

Dmitry Polyanskiy, Russia's deputy ambassador to the United Nations, claimed that Western allies had been informed of the proof.

He told reporters, "I don't mind people saying that Russia is crying wolf if this doesn't happen because this is a terrible, terrible disaster that threatens potentially the whole of the Earth".

It is a bomb that releases radioactive material into the atmosphere when it detonates, such as uranium.

It doesn't have to include highly specialized radioactive material like a nuclear bomb does. Instead, it can use of radioactive substances from medical facilities, nuclear power plants, or research facilities.

Such a weapon would elicit fear among the intended population because radioactive fallout might result in life-threatening conditions like cancer.

According to calculations by the Federation of American Scientists, if a bomb containing 9g (0.3oz) of cobalt-60 and 5kg of TNT were to detonate near the tip of Manhattan in New York, the entire region of the city would be rendered inhabitable for decades.

Because of this, dirty bombs are sometimes referred to as weapons of mass disruption.

It is necessary to reduce the radioactive material in a dirty bomb to powder in order for it to disperse across the target zone. However, if the particles are too small or discharged in a windy environment, they will disperse too widely and cause little harm.

The most probable reason for coming up with the "dirty bomb" accusations was to entice the countries against him, the NGO's and politicians, and cause some mayhem. 

Why? The fact that he took the regions weeks ago and is now fighting to keep them is already a Russian failure. 

But this war is full of misinformation and 

the most unexpected scenarios can't be counted out.
