Over 40 cities have been hit in Ukraine in the past 24 hours. 

For the past weeks, news of Ukraine taking back control of territory seemed to be the norm. This has been the "blitz". They tricked the Russians into thinking they would push through a specific territory, so the Russian troops mobilized for defense, leaving an opening that the Ukrainians have strongly exploited.

And now, the Russians are seeking revenge, using Iranian 

 Ukraine over $17.5 Billion dollars, trained their forces and strategized the counter offensive "blitz" with them. 

Over 40 Ukrainian cities and villages have been 

 by Russian missiles in the last 24 hours, despite NATO allies 

 to bolster Europe's air defenses with Patriot and other missile systems.

Moscow issued fresh threats, claiming that the additional military support for Kyiv approved earlier this week at the NATO summit rendered NATO members "direct parties to the conflict," and that "including Ukraine in the alliance would start a World War".

According to Alexander Venediktov, deputy secretary of Russia's Security Council, "Kyiv is well aware that such a step would mean a 

guaranteed escalation to a World War Three

Moscow has frequently argued that Ukraine's aspirations to join the alliance represented a threat to Russia's security. This is their argument in order to justify the invasion of Ukraine that has resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of people in what Russia calls a "special operation."

If Ukraine joined NATO it would put the United States and its allies in direct conflict with Russia, under the 

of the alliance. For that, NATO is unlikely to grant Ukraine membership anytime soon.

Even before the invasion, NATO was taking its time deciding whether to admit Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, indicated he was open to accept neutrality shortly after Russia's assault got underway.

International indignation over the annexation resulted. A resolution denouncing it as "illegal" was unanimously approved by the UN General Assembly on Wednesday.

Mykolaiv, a port city in the south, was heavily bombarded, according to local authorities.

In a statement on social media, regional governor Vitaly Kim stated that "it is clear that a number of civilian objects were hit."

He claimed that a five-story residential building's top two stories were entirely demolished, while the remaining three were reduced to rubble. An 11-year-old kid, who Kim claimed had been trapped under the debris for six hours, was pulled from under the wreckage in video footage given by the state emergency services.

Putin has repeatedly threatened to use nuclear weapons to preserve Russia, including the areas it seized last month, as his forces have suffered many setbacks since September. He also ordered the call-up of hundreds of thousands of reservists.

After Putin ordered harsh attacks in response to an explosion on a bridge in Crimea, more than 50 Western nations gathered on Wednesday to vow increased military assistance to Ukraine, including air defense systems.

While Washington agreed to expedite the delivery of a promised NASAMS air defense system, Germany has already supplied Ukraine the first of four IRIS-T SLM air defense systems.

Despite Moscow's denial that it was targeting civilians, Kiev claims that Russian forces were attempting to use "cold as their weapon" and that the strikes were directed at the Ukrainian people and its power grid.

Denys Shmyhal, the prime minister, urged people to save energy and get ready for winter by stocking up on warm clothing, candles, torches, and batteries on Wednesday. "In their warped imagination, Ukrainians sitting for several hours without electricity is a victory," he said.

On October 4th, US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, 

another aid package of $625 Million in additional U.S. Military Assistance for Ukraine. 

"At the UN General Assembly, President Biden made it clear yet again that we will support the people of Ukraine for as long as it takes.  Recent developments from Russia’s sham referenda and attempted annexation to new revelations of brutality against civilians in Ukrainian territory formerly controlled by Russia only strengthens our resolve.  United with our Allies and partners from 50 nations, we are delivering the arms and equipment that Ukraine’s forces are utilizing so effectively today in a successful counter-offensive to take back their lands seized illegally by Russia.

Pursuant to a delegation of authority from the President, I am authorizing our twenty-second drawdown of U.S. arms and equipment for Ukraine since August 2021.  This $625 million drawdown includes additional arms, munitions, and equipment from U.S. Department of Defense inventories.   This drawdown will bring the total U.S. military assistance for Ukraine to more than $17.5 billion

since the beginning of this Administration."

The US is propping up aid, weapons and any help to Ukraine. Russia is threatening with nuclear weapons. Both sides won't give in.
