Recently US government and forces came into alert when they saw China and Russia warship near Alaska.

Alaska, a semi-exclave area, full of ice and minerals, a promising land if explored seriously. This piece of land shares its borders with Columbia and Yukon towards the east and with Russia’s Chukotka towards the west. 

Totally unexplored during its early days, this land was unsaid inhabited by ALEUT PEOPLE and home to numerous famous sea otters. But what is the status of Alaska now? Why the USA government is so concerned about it?     Before the establishment of the USA when then Russia was slowly increasing its area, it showed greater interest in this icy piece of land, firstly, it was blessing in disguise for Russia to capture it as it would sooner or later become opportunity for Russia to beat European nations (already started colonizing the America).

Secondly, the population of sea otters in this area was humongous which eventually lead to the production of tradable fur in colder nations or countries worldwide.

Thus, it was a win-win situation for then Russia to capture this part of earth and show its domination to the world.

But as they say land has always become the root cause of any war, so, does this land which was eventually inhabited by ALEUT people later became the victim of the least spoken BATTLE OF SITKA, led by ALEUT people against the Russian domination to save their land, their ethnicity, culture and people from foreign influence. However, they failed miserably, and later Russia established a Russian American company in 1799 to showcase its complete monopoly over Alaska.

As the time passed by Russians realized they could not colonize Alaska completely firstly, as this piece of land is far away from Russia and they could not reach out to this place during emergency times.

Secondly, ethnicity and communication lag served a great problem for Russians as they were not able to communicate with the locals.

Thirdly, by this time the game of colonizing was officially started between Europe and Russia and due to this various new colonies were established towards the west of Russia which kept it busy in dealing with them and they eventually lost all the interest and resources at Alaska. Initially, the intention of Russia was very clear to use Alaska for trading purposes but in later stages it became the bone of contention for Russia to deal with this land as it never proved to be useful for them. Besides sea otters the land was unfertile and could not be used for other purposes. 

These all instances frustrated Russia and they thought of selling Alaska.

The land which was once captured by Russia to show its dominance in west was sold to the USA by journalist and politician Andrew Johnson to then President Abraham Lincoln in 1867.

The price was shocking $7.2 million to about two cents per acre.

 During that time the purchase of Alaska by the US government was termed as Seward's folly that it has nothing to offer. But as the decades passed and scientific development reached its top, exploration finally started on this land, and it slowly ranked second in the nation in crude oil production.

It fulfills 50 percent of America’s sea food needs. Not only this in terms of per capita income it became 4th largest and talking about gold, this land offers a huge amount of placer gold deposits which are still under exploration.

This is not the coincidence that how a piece of land can change one country’s identity and now it is not only a piece of land but the part of pride of each American. Talking about the tourism sector, each year travel enthusiasts visit this amazing place due to its ethnicity as well as climate miracles.

So, this time when China and Russia came for naval patrolling USA was extra cautious as it can add fuel to the fire for these countries.

Given the situation of Russia and Ukraine war, and the South China sea tensions, US has dispatched warships after the naval patrolling.

This time is very crucial in terms of geopolitics as every day there is some or the other advancement but as the Indian Prime Minister said “this era is not for wars” so countries should understand that this era is for technological advancements, sustainability and climate conservation. The new generation is looking forward to the advancement of the era and not to chaotic wars.

Last week was a busy week in terms of geopolitical meetings of India, but the limelight was none other than the 

which was planned to held via video call.

Numerous topics were discussed with dozens of agreements and proposals and it can be summarised by its title only which is:-

SECURE - SCO sum up as a multilateral co-operation between sco (Shanghai Cooperation Organisation) countries on various strategic headers like security, people to people connection and many more.

But again the main highlight of the meeting was the 

economic development strategy for 2030 agreement

From the past few days global media is covering this report of sco extensively, why INDIA did not sign it? what is it all about? Did any other country sign it?

With increasing leadership and influence of India in global south region, balancing east and west geopolitics prominently to world's fastest growing economy these all pointers are causing great harm to China's strategy to connect various nations in its old Belt and Road initiative.

At one time a promising initiative now it has become a bone of contention for China. It was proposed in 2013 inorder to link around 150 different countries for infrastructural purpose. India has always shown no interest in such a group as these initiatives are proved to be a debt trap of china for small developing nations let say classic case of Sri Lanka, second, this proposal is out of India's strategic safety (particularly from Pakistan side).

Highly spoken, new development strategy of sco is nothing but a global advertisement of its BELT AND ROAD INITIATIVE, filled with catchphrases of china this new proposal is of no use of India.

With all the other countries agreeing to this development, India was the only one who opposed it and did not sign it.

With china's huge economic push and infrastructure development it is predicted to become no. 1 economy in terms of nominal gdp around 2030 and will surpass USA.

Thus, it is trying to accelerate its most searched investment in belt and road initiative much before 2030 and for that it needs a yes from the biggest democracy of global south.

Strongness, firmness and correct neeti is what time demands in this geopolitical realm of events.

With befitting replies to hosting global forums, this era is for glabal and emerging India and this can be summed up by the book 'the India Way' in which our honorable foreign minister and renowned technocrat Dr. S Jaishankar wrote about the choices of India and its decisions, he emphasised on the world to understand India and its motto of vasudhaiva kutumbakam.

It is not the era of war or backstabbing infact it is the time of diplomatic decision and strong point of views, as the famous saying goes that

, thus it is very much evident in this geopolitical realm of events there are no permant friends or enemies, everyone has their voice and everyone voice is being heard but as stated by Dr.S Jaishankar himself that in this glablisation time we need to learn diplomacy from the oldest diplomat ever who is none other than Shri Krishna himself (ref. MAHABHARATA) and his teachings taught us :-

INDIAN SPACE RESEARCH ORGANISATION (ISRO) 

is all set to launch its most awaited mission 

This is not just a simple mission it is the mission that has long captivated the attention of not only Indians but also the space organisations from other countries.

The country of over 1.4 billion people had started its space exploration in 1962 with the establishmenat of INCOSPAR. Initial years were not at all smooth but as the time passes by it has proved its mettle and established itself globally. With various scientists heard or unheard, ISRO is the family of brilliant and curious minds.

It has seen its highs and lows and is all set to make India to be the fouth country to reach to the moon successfully and create history.

Chandrayaan-3 is the successor mission of the well spoken Chandrayaan-2 mission (2019).

Back in 2019, India was all set to launch the Chandrayaan-2 mission, with lander and rover ready to explore the unexplored south part of the moon. However due to some indiscrepancy we lost the communication with the lander (Vikram) named after the well known scientist and the father of Indian space research Dr. Vikram sarabhai and it crashed, On the other hand Orbital is working perfectly. Life is full of ups and downs, ISRO learnt from its mistakes and the scientists come more stronger and braver. They are all set to open a new chapter of this most searched mission.

Talking about the same, the aim is clear to reach the far side part of the moon (having -267 F TEMP.), it is expected to have high value of hydrogen and so does the speculation of having water in that region.

The mission is going to be on board in third week of july, with almost all the equipments "MADE IN INDIA" .

This not only made India outsatnd in space realm but also give a massive boost to the ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT MISSION (self reliant ). And ultimately this is what the goal of ISRO is 

TO STUDY THE SCIENCE OF THE MOON WITH SELF SUFFICIENCY.

In order to avoid the unprecedented events like 2019, this time the legs of lander are made stronger, new software is added to study the information effectively, on the top of this there will be no orbital in this mission as the orbital from the Chandrayaan 2 mission will be used to increase space sustainability.

Geopolitically, It is just the starting with the Prime Minister of India signing the Artemis Accord in the third week of June in oder to show the commitment of safer and sustainable space development to the progress in further lunar mission with the co-operation of Japan, there is still a long way to go.

Culturally, moon is not just a planet, infact it is one of the most purest form that can be seen from our earth. It represents our mann( true self) of human being and is sometimes said to be as pure as mother.

So, time has come to cherish this moment and feel elated. Irrespective of the result it is time to feel proud of all those scientists who have given it all to this mission.

RELATION OF INDIA WITH THE AFRICAN CONTINENT

From a very long time Africa was the long lost part in the geopolitical realm, but as the time passes by it got attention of developed nation. Filled with lots of minerals as well as human potential this part on map can give the world a lot more if explored seriously.

Talking in trade terms, INDIA and AFRICA total trade comprises of 74.86 USD BLN out of which India's export is approx 33.08 USD BLN (2021-22, ministry of commerce).

Not only this both the countries share cordial relationship and cultural bonds, with increasing trend of bollywood movies and music in countries like Tanzania and South Africa a special and unbreakable relation can be seen.

African continent or African union (AU) came into effect in 2002 with almost 55 countries coming together. Their goal was simple to promote the unity and solidarity of the African States. To merge it with the pace of upcoming world, to fulfill the dreams of future generations, to defend their sovereignity, territorial integrity, and independence.

India totally understand this vision, as after independence we too struggle for this commom goal. Now after 75 years of independence when India is capable of achieving its own dream so why not giving this stage a chance to include the less spoken part of the world, to give them the chance so that they can achieve their goal by discussing it with other developed countries.

However, this is not the first time when the Indian government has recogised the dilemma of AU.

But when the whole world is fighting with the global pandemic, it was India who offers approx 25 million doses (made in India)to almost 41 African countries.

Time has come to cater and fulfill the need of ignored nations and give them what they truly deserve.

Indian government and officials are trying hard to let the world listen the voice of Africa because a great leader or host is not that who speaks for himself but a great leader is that who let other speak.

Yearlong Russia-Ukraine war came to a stand by when approx 50,000 soldiers of Russian army started marching towards Moscow leading to a military coup. This incident reminds how unprecedented wars lead to  unprecedented circumstances. 

Something like this happens in Russia where the current government is shocked to see how an old chef, a partner, current head of private military group, right hand of Vladimir Putin Yevgeny Prigozhin started a mutiny against current government and decided to change the regime. 

Yevgeny who was given the charge of mercenary military group Wagner by Putin himself had seen real power struggle and crucial war moments himself. Shortage of war equipments, a prolong war with no end, weak decision makers pressurised him to take this action. Common people and military people of Russia have had enough with this war as Russian currency is continuously diminishing from the global market, Ukraine is really fighting tough this time with no beneficial choice left with Russia, people are not able to live their life like before, this war has no end and this frustrates them all. 

On the other hand in order to tackle this situation Putin has already declared 30 day martial law with strict actions in order to prevent civil war like situation. 

Whole world is keenly watching this situation including India, how the situation will unfold is a matter of time. Putin will be taking some considerate decision this time. In order to save his country, his regime, his image and his longing dream of a perfect and expanding Russia.
